Mandate

Eurydice is passionately committed to providing students of all ages and levels with the opportunity to learn music in a fun, relaxed and enriched environment. We recognize that every student has an individual learning style and set of goals, therefore curriculum will be determined for each student in order to best suit his/her needs. Students will be encouraged to set goals and work towards them while celebrating the landmarks they reach along the way. Possible musical goals can include preparing for solo or chamber recitals, RCM exams, auditions, recordings or competitions. We look forward to working with individuals who are motivated and eager to learn.

Lessons

It is expected that each student will receive one lesson per week. The length of the lesson will vary depending on the students playing level.

Beginner Student – 30 minutes
Intermediate Student – 45 minutes
Advanced Student – 60 minutes

Recitals

All students are required to participate in recitals, after all what is practicing for if not to share the results with an appreciative audience? Recital dates, times and locations will be posted online one month prior to the performance. Memorization of solo pieces is encouraged.

Practicing

It is expected that students must practice their instrument regularly in order to make improvement. Learning music is a gradual process that requires long-term commitment because it is not possible to improve a great deal in just a few days! It is suggested that students practice equal to the length of their lesson five times per week. Understandably there are sometimes legitimate circumstances where a student is unable to practice such as family holidays or serious illness, however it is unacceptable for students to regularly attend lessons without practicing at home.

Prices

Lessons are billed for on a monthly schedule based on four lessons per month. It is noted that in some cases such as the month of December there may be less than four lessons and in other months the student may receive five lessons. The student will only be billed for the exact amount of lessons he/she receives in one academic year (September to June). Therefore, prices may vary slightly depending on the day of the week the lesson is scheduled. There is also an administration fee due in September which goes towards hall rentals for recitals.

Beginner – $120 per month ($30 per 30 minute lesson)
Intermediate - $180 per month ($45 per 45 minute lesson)
Advanced - $240 per month ($60 per 60 minute lesson)

Administration Fee - $50 (funds hall rentals for recitals)

Cancellations
Lessons cancelled by the teacher will always be rescheduled. Lessons cancelled by the student are not required to be rescheduled however the teacher may wish to reschedule the lesson if they are able. It is asked that all cancellations be made 24 hours in advance except in the case of illness or emergency.
